Testimonials

I was the art teacher at Ridgway High School from 1999 until I retired in 2006. While other high schools were charging student fees for art supplies, our school didn't do that because we had a transient population. Fees that students paid at other schools they attended before transferring to Ridgway did not transfer with the student. That left me, as the art teacher, with a very insufficient art budget for the many students I served in my classes each year.

Thanks to Schools Plus, I was able to count on having some extra funding to buy the necessary supplies I needed for my classroom. My allotted school budget of $50 per semester for each section of art that I taught did not go far. I used my School Plus budget for things that I knew I couldn't purchase with my budget like paint brushes, acrylic paint, canvases, and Prismacolor pencils.  I purchased quality materials that my students deserved. The Schools Plus Program gave my students the chance to create meaningful and expressive artwork for themselves, and to be proud to display along with the other high school students in the annual district high school art show.

Thanks Schools Plus!
